Fundamental and universal properties of the nature

The research group of Monika Musial is focused for many years on the development of new computational tools of quantum chemistry aimed at the precise determination of interatomic potentials. A number of novel ideas, e.g., such as the investigation of the potential energy curves for the neutral systems via calculations for their double positive or double negative ions, made it possible to achieve the accuracy unattainable with the standard computational schemes. The precise knowledge of the interatomic potentials is crucial in the design of the synthesis of molecules in the ultra low temperatures, one of the most popular research topics in recent years. The application power of these studies is enormous, e.g, a high precision spectroscopy, quantum computers, superaccurate determination of the fundamental physical constants, etc..
